About an hour ago Chris Bird rang to tell me that he was searching for a Rose-coloured Starling. The bird turned up in the garden of Gillian and Paul Coates, who told their next-door neighbours John and Sheila Gettings, who told Chris.
To cut a long story short, after an agonising wait, the bird has flown into a small tree and is giving Chris great views.
