Monday 5th I caught the tail end of a large flow of birds south: Gannets, auks, Kittiwakes, Herring gulls, terns, 6+3 Scoter plus a few Manxies after attending my moth trap at Pennar Fawr. No skuas in 1.5hr watch.
Later at high tide on Gwbert spit there were 4 Turnstone, around 40 Ringed Plovers and a handful of Dunlin. 5 Sanderling on the edge of the sands plus Oystercatchers and 9 Little Egret trying out their usual roost tree on the Pembs side.
All waders were being regularly disturbed by walkers and their dogs though I didn't see any chasing just the sight of four legs was enough. Some people are reasonable when alerted to the roost and it would help if there was a warning notice by the pontoon asking people to keep off during high tides.
Later 3 Whimbrel flew in over the Cliff Hotel: didn't stop too expensive.
