A sea-watch at Mwnt this morning between 0700 and 1300 was quite productive with 27 common scoter, c.8000 kittiwake, 1 1st year little gull, 165 Mediterranean gull, 19 sandwich tern, 3 great skua, 1 Pomarine skua (adult), 7 arctic skua, 3 red-throated diver, 20+ Manx shearwater, 3 sooty shearwater and 5 Balearic shearwater, all heading south (and numerous gannets and auks). For the first two hours everything was passing close in but after 0900 most birds were further off-shore. Must have missed loads as there is so much sea to look at with no one else there watching.
