Llanrhystud and Ynyslas

 Sunday morning - Llanrhystud beach.

The high tide had pushed a number of waders into the fields south of the lime kilns, including 10 lapwing, 43 curlew and 12 oystercatchers. There were also five little egrets and two heron. A flock of golden plover could be seen circling further south.
The flooded field held 14 redshank. This field regularly has a large number of gulls at the moment - an ideal spot for anyone who enjoys gull ID!

Tuesday afternoon - Ynyslas, with Andy Wise:
A couple of red-throated divers, and a great crested grebe were seen from the Brickhouse.
In the estuary (from the car park) we saw another great-crested grebe.  Other highlights included two male pintail, a single pale-bellied brent goose, two greenshank, plus shelduck, curlew and wigeon. Redshank and golden plover were heard.  There was a distant flock of approximately 100 small waders in flight which we concluded were dunlin.
Andy also saw a Black redstart (female/juv type) as he was driving through Borth.
