Aberporth Little Egret

Little Egret on Aberporth beaches this morning – flying from one stream to the other picking through the seaweed and “dancing” in the puddles, presumably to disturb small prey from the sand.  It caught a small flatfish but struggled – and eventually failed – to swallow it.   I’ve not seen one on this beach before, but the cold weather keeping people (and dogs) away, and the relative warmth of the sea may explain the sighting.
