It’s been a strange winter with a marked lack of regular species on the marsh. I’ve only had 2 hen harriers since October and very low numbers of diving duck. Yesterday was a typical day, only bird of note was a single green sandpiper. Again no raptors other than red kite. 1 goosander, 6 great black-backed gulls, 40 lapwing and 60 dunlin the only other birds of note. A drumming great spot this morning . At Pandy, Furnace there was a dipper yesterday and a goosander today.
