Are you looking for a new challenge in 2023? Do you want to contribute to conservation science in Wales and enjoy a good birdwatch at the same time? Why not sign up for a BBS square!?
BBS, aka Breeding Bird Survey, is one of the BTO's annual core surveys
consisting of 2 visits (in April-June) to a 1km square. The data collected are
invaluable when it comes to monitoring the breeding success of birds in the
UK.
This survey is perfect for a more experienced birder who can identify birds
by sight and sound. As this is an annual survey, it's a great opportunity to get
to know a specific area and the birds who breed there. You also have the ability
to log bees, butterflies and mammals you see along the way.
The orange squares in the map below indicate 1km squares that are available
to survey. If you are interested in surveying, or would like more information
about the survey please visit:

There was a map attached to Naomi's email which I am having difficulty in reproducing on the blog.
Will sort asap.
