Despite the 4x4s and off road motorbikes, plenty to see and hear in the beautiful weather.
Cuckoo 5, Wood Warbler 8, Crossbill 3, Tree Pipit 10, Garden Warbler 13, Redpoll 11, Pied Flycatcher 5, Grasshopper Warbler 1. Also saw a Roe Deer quite high up. Had an incredibly close encounter with a male Crossbill that dropped down on the track in front of me just ten paces away. At first my brain couldn't comprehend what the little glowing ball of orangey-red at my feet was. An all too brief encounter.
