14 Wood Warblers this morning compared to 20 last year, but not a strict like for like comparison as part of the "red trail" where I previously saw 2-4 perhaps, was closed for forestry operations. Two Cuckoos were calling.
I think it goes without saying that we all like Swifts but they are apparently in a steady long term decline. They don't get much of a mention here as they tend to be around towns and villages where we don't usually go birding. So here are a few places where I've seen them present this year; Betws Bledrws, Lampeter, Llanddewi Brefi, Tregaron, Pontrhydfendigaid, Pontrhydygroes, Llandysul, Penrhiwllan, Aberbanc, Henllan.
