A rare trip to the far south of the county yesterday, a couple of hours walk along Patch beach and point on the falling tide. SedgeWarbler singing in the reeds at the eastern end of the beach,Whitethroat, Bullfinch and Linnet on the hillside above. 22 Shelduck spread out across the sands and creeks, Little Egret, 4 Barnacle Geese,3 Canada Geese, c.15 Oystercatcher, single Curlew/Whimbrel then further out numerous gulls, 2 Cormorants and c.50 small waders heavily obscuredby heat haze. 2 Herons in the main channel. Out on the point, 4 Ringed Plover and in the dunes another Whitethroat, 3 more Linnets, a Dunnock,Goldfinch and 2 Common Blues. Nice flora too.
