The hills are alive.......

Along Camddwr (telephone box to Soar y Mynydd); Stonechat 8, Reed Bunting 12, Whinchat 8. At the pool there was a pair of Teal with a Grasshopper and 4 Sedge Warblers.

Driving around Llyn Brianne I found two Common Sandpipers, about 5km apart, plus two Cuckoos in Dalar Wen.

It has been a few years since I walked in the lower section of Cwm Doethie and I'd forgotten how wonderful it is. The magnificent woodlands at the very bottom must hold significant numbers of Wood Warblers/Pied Flys/Redstarts, I presume. I pushed on through to count some of the birds on the more open ffridd habitat further up; Tree Pipit 19, Whinchat 21, Cuckoo 4, Stonechat 3. The best birds of the day were a pair of Yellowhammers holding territory below Craig Ddu.
