Pairs of Spotted Flycatchers at Denmark Farm and Llangynllo. The birds at DF are the first for a few years. Previously, they used to nest in the flue of the yurt on the campsite.
My question is to Russell. The waders that you saw at Ynys Hir the other day; heading north still? It sounds like such a huge number so late, but maybe it isn't unprecedented? I haven't seen any records from Llanrhystud recently but perhaps waders have still been stopping off there too but nobody has been there to see them.
My comments are for Ian Harrison. Last year I found a female Goosander with young at Pont Gogoyan, just downriver from Pont Llanio. Perhaps the same bird? Regarding the Sand Martins; there used to be a big colony behind Pant Pool (not too far away from Pont Llanio) with maybe over 50 pairs in some years but that seems to have completely gone as the site is gradually worked out.
