Monday 31st July
A quick twitch was surprisingly successful (I fail most times) but
a juvenile coot at RSPB Ynys-hir was still there and my first of the year. On
the Dyfi were 13 black-tailed godwits in gorgeous plumage. Earlier at
Ynyslas there were 7 sanderling and 28 ringed plover.
Sea watching from the brick house was unsurprisingly
unproductive so a trip to Mwnt early tomorrow is planned. Though I have trouble
waking early now we have fitted blinds to our velux windows, thinking it is 6am
I soon discover that it is almost 10am and most birds have long since gone.
Alarm set.
