Mystery solved, the dead Chough on Mwnt beach was one of this year's brood of 4 ringed there on 27th May 2023. Thankfully the full ring details were reported by another finder the day before the photo shown below. This bird was found 196 days after ringing but this was the first and only reported sighting of it despite it being at one of the better watched sites in the county. Any and all sightings of colour-ringed Choughs are very welcome and much appreciated.
