Saw a number of Little Egrets this morning; Pant pool 4, Ystrad Caron 5, Pont Einon 7, Llansantffraed 2.
On the way to the coast, in a field near Ty Gwyn pools, there were 400 Lapwings, 7 Pink footed Geese and 70 Greylags.
At Llansantffraed the number and variety of waders was much reduced compared to the cold snap. 18 Redshanks was still a good count. A Turnstone had a yellow ring on it's left leg. Best bird was a male Hen Harrier which flew past the church tower and over the village just after I had stepped out of the car.
