Further to Andy James's record of singing Greenfinch at Aberaeron allotments on Thursday 2nd, Naomi and Josie missed my garden singing bird by about 5 minutes after putting up Swift boxes on my house , Saturday 4th. Singing intermittent yesterday, 5th, first heard 30 April. Heard last year for the first time for several years when they used to nest.
Friends near
the allotment swore they had Greenfinch on their feeders last year - I was
sceptical until I saw the photos!
Good that they
seem to be making a (slight) comeback.

I agree. Based on my observations over the last three years or so, a slow recovery seems to be underway.
