Ynyslas

Dressed in summer clothing I again spent an hour at the brick house yesterday morning between 0800 and 0900hrs. Loads of manxies (4000 plus), 250 gannets, quite a few kittiwakes and good numbers of auks all mainly heading north. Nothing unusual but very pleasant birding until I realised my legs (in shorts) had gone numb and my fingers were white with cold.

Despite oncoming hypothermia I spent an hour at the tern posts where the variety of waders was good but numbers poor: 35 dunlin, 14 ringed plover, three bar-tailed godwit, two sanderling, three grey plover (same as yesterday), two sanderling, five knot and a turnstone.
Oh, the joys of spring weather!
