Decent few days with a undoubted highlight of 70 plus Red-throated Diver off Ynyslas
Morfa Bychan 31/10-4/11: Chough 3, Peregrine,
Raven, 6 Stonechat.
2nd: 30-40 Common Scoter offshore, 20+ Gannets
and single Fieldfare.
4th: 31 Oystercatcher, 18 Turnstone, 13
Curlew
Llanon 2nd: 140 Lapwing, 55 Golden Plover, 21
Dunlin, 21 Turnstone, 20 Curlew, 5 Redshank and 2 Med Gulls
Ynyslas 3rd: A good start from the turn car
park with 3 Red-throated Divers close in. That got better with a final count of
70+ probably about half a mile out. Two huge flocks of mainly Herring Gulls
which must have been around the 1,500 mark. Several Gannets and over 100 Auks
and 25 Common Scoter in an excellent half hour sea watch in the calm
conditions
