After todays storm we have checked most of the reserve and
the Blue route and Red route to Ynys Feurig are OK and so these parts of the
reserve will be open as usual. We will check the Green (Woodland) Trail tomorrow
morning first thing, but until then it will remain closed.
While checking we clocked up 50 species including 5 great
egrets (Visitor Centre, Marian Mawr, Domenlas and Ynys Edwin), 1 marsh harrier,
600 teal, 350 wigeon and 90 shelduck from Ynys Feurig, 4 shovellers from the
visitor centre and the chiffchaff is still around Ynys Edwin in the vicinity of
where the track splits.
