Despite the cold and rather icy NW wind a productive 2 hours was spent at Ynyslas this afternoon. Highlights were 3 knot, 180 dunlin, 3 grey plover, 4 greenshank and 2 turnstone at the tern posts. Further up the estuary were 6 PB brent geese and a sudden mass exodus of geese off the fields while I was scoping the brents produced a very brief flight view of 10 Greenland white-fronted geese. At Ynys Tachwedd were 720 golden plover, 52 curlew and about 80 lapwing along with 30 skylark and 12 reed bunting.
