Colour-ringed Herring Gulls in New Quay

Lots of Herring Gulls at the fish factory yesterday, including 5 colour ringed gulls. That's the most I've seen there at once. Almost all the ringed birds I've sighted have come from the Irish Sea or Bristol Channel area, never as exotic as the Med Gulls, BH Gulls and others. Two of today's birds are from the Calf of Man, another is from Bardsey. The fourth, however, is from Suffolk, which has been around for a few days now. It's the first in 3500 gulls ringed by the scheme over the past 40 years to be sighted in Wales, which is interesting enough. I couldn't get a good luck at the fifth bird, other than it had a dark green ring on its right leg. The vast majority of the 1000+ Herring Gulls were first and second winter (spring) birds.
