On the 4th a Cuckoo was on Waun Brynmeinog, above Llanddewi Brefi.
On the 9th, at work, Spotted Flycatcher in Betws Ifan.
Yesterday, at the Llangybi end of Long Wood, there were considerable numbers of Willow Warblers, Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs in the regenerating clearfell. Nine Garden Warblers were present. With so much clearance having occurred in recent years I wasn't hopeful for Wood Warbler but one was singing in some thinned conifers close to the sawmill.
This morning 2 more Wood Warblers were in Allt Olmarch with 4 Garden Warblers in the clear felled areas.
Everywhere I go around here in the Dulas and Teifi valleys there are Canada Geese in what seem to be rapidly escalating numbers. From my garden I hear them from dawn to dusk. I see them strutting about in groups in fields and they appear to be bossing every pond available.
