It was a perfect day (Tuesdawy) for doing my Winter Bord Surrey at Tre'r ddol. Many of the birds seemed to be enjoying the sunshine as much as I was - sitting out in the open apparently without a care in the world (that's the birds, not me). I couldn't add them to my square but in s field just east of the Cletwr were a "cream crown " marsh harrier and a male hen Harrier, just perched on the ground maybe 30 yards apart. A buzzard was on a fence post in the background and a sparrowhawk preened on another fence post before flying inland into some trees. There was a couple of short bursts of mistle thrush song.
Later on a chilly visit to Cors Fochno for the harrier roost we saw the male HH and at east three marsh harriers. I couldn't say for sure that a male was among them. Perhaps they roost somewhere else. A Cetti's warbler called and a water rail squealed.
