Despite the awful weather I had a great first of the year trip to Ynyslas. There was a young Red-breasted Merganser outside the boatyard and an Utter slightly further upstream. There was also a lovely male Hen Harrier flying over the fields where the cows are.
Other things of interest were all at the point at high tide. A small flock of a dozen or so Golden Plover with a pair of Sanderlings mixed in. Three Great Black-backed Gulls, a couple of Cormorants and a Great Crested Grebe as well.
