Henllan bird

Hi Trish. The bird that you saw was likely to be a Marsh Tit. There is quite a lot of suitable habitat for them thereabouts (mature deciduous woodland), but it's not the kind of place that I would expect to see Willow Tits. I have very occasionally seen/heard them when I'm delivering the post and we saw a pair opposite the railway station on a birding walk a few years back. About a month ago I spoke to Red Liford who told me that he had recently been hearing a Marsh Tit singing regularly in just that spot along the railway line, behind the nursing home. His knowledge of calls and songs is outstanding.
