Dipper

Pleased to see a dipper late this afternoon near the bridge in the middle of Tregaron. The river has been heavily disturbed for most of the year with the construction of a flood prevention scheme and I thought its food supply would have disappeared along with one of its nest sites.
Bri had to despatch a buzzard that had wrecked its wing getting caught on the barbed wire along the railway line on Cors Caron this morning, which was most unpleasant as it couldn't be detached because it had swung around and 'tied' itself to the wire barbs. This has happened before on that line but then the bird hung until it succumbed.
More cheerfully there was a male Hen Harrier on the NW bog Xmas day and a green sand on our pond on 29th.
