A walk around Llanrhystud beach this afternoon produced the following:
 > 30 golden plover and >100 lapwing in the fields behind the beach. On the beach: 2 redshank, 2 ringed plover, 2 curlew, a single grey plover plus a heron and several turnstones.
Near the ditch/stream behind the beach 2 snipe flew up. A large flock of thrushes in one of the fields included 2 fieldfare.
There may also be a merlin around – I thought I caught a glimpse of it over the weekend but no sign today. Certainly lots of raptor snacks available at the moment though!
