Last night (Sat) whilst walking up the Lisburne Road from 'Bont' to Cors Caron, I heard a cuckoo that was close by, It took off from the tree and a second cuckoo took off just behind it. The first cuckoo still still calling as it flew but the second remained silent. They flew towards me and passed by and as the were about to disappear one of them made a bubbling/gurgling sound. I've never heard that sound before (apart from the tv!) and the first time I've seen two at the same time.
Earlier in the day I came across a pair of marsh tits busy feeding young (still in the nest hole) at Coed Dolgoed and also my first spotted flycatcher
