A tetrad visit this morning yielded good numbers of singing Blackcaps and Garden Warblers plus a few local 'bonus' birds such as Tree Pipit 4, Pied Flycatcher 3, and a single Common Whitethroat.
Yesterday I had the pleasure to be accompanied round Cors Caron by the future president of the Ceredigion Ornithological Society aka Tomos Bach, not 5 til next month. As ones own sensory nervous system declines into a state of inexorable decrepitude it is good to know that there may be others to take up the reigns. He was first on to a small bird flitting about in the trees."Like a Woodpecker without the coch bit." Indeed it was......a Pied Flycatcher.
