Re "A single swallow" ....
It is a fabulous read, but for many pages at a time the swallow is absent . It's a great travel book but don't be taken too far in by the title!
Our swallows put in an appearance mid/late april, and then like last year made themselves scarce. I'm hoping that they repeat last year's performance by turning up again in June when the all the rest are thinking about a second brood!
I wonder where they go in the meantime?
