Ynyslas Invasion

We've had huge numbers of waders at high tide today, something in the region of 2,500 dunlin and 500 ringed plover. 2 turnstone and 10 sanderling were seen also.

But as I've been out on the reserve today I can't help but notice the massive numbers of swallows flying north. In one spot I was seeing at least 10 a minute pass within 20m of me. It seems they've got fed up waiting for the northerly winds to ease and are going for it en masse.
