Birds on Foel Fawr
This morning we watched a spotted flycatcher for a while as we started our walk up Foel Fawr - there are an awful lot of flies about so go to it spotty. A sparrowhawk flew past with swallows hot on its tail. I watched a wood warbler with 2 young ones for a couple of minutes, also saw 1 tree pipit and immature whinchat and redstart. As we got a bit further north along the Foel I noticed little egrets in the trees above Domen Las hide at Ynys-hir. The hide is a fair distance from the Foel and I only had my binocular with me so it was a bit of a job to count them accurately but I think there were between 18 and 22.
