Friday afternoon; Carrying on from Andre Marsh's point about flocks, we have never seen so many small birds including juveniles in one place. The woodland & banks around the reserve were hopping!
Redstart, piedfly, blue, long-tailed & gt.tit, sedge warbler, willow warbler, nuthatch, greater-spotted woody, the list goes on; even reed warbler by the pools.
It must have been a combination of the wet start to the day, giving moisture & then the hot sunshine warming everything up & food being available.
