Teifi Pools.

A fine Sunday - so a visit for my usual activity in the Teifi pools - fishing - however always maintain one eye on the bird life in these high hills. The special of the day was a Merlin near the approach road to Llyn Egnant. On this lake were a family party of seven well grown Goosanders. Conspicuous by the drop in numbers or absence, compared with the time of the Ceredigion Bird Group visit last month, was Sandpipers none to be seen, and only a few Wheatears and Meadow Pippits. However on the road back down - between TynDdol and Ffair Rhos there was a large family party ( flock) of at least 47 Mippits on the fence line and telephone wires. In the distance a Kestrel was hovering over the rhos.
