Ynyslas and Ynys-hir

rather cold first thing this morning with a chilly easterly wind blowing down the estuary. Sheltering from the wind at the northern point I watched the flock of small waders as the tide pushed them closer (though there were occasional dog-walkers and joggers disturbing them). There were 13 curlew sandpipers, 2 knot, a turnstone, 400 dunlin and about 120 ringed plovers.
Later the high-tide at Ynyshir had pushed 5 greenshank, 2 green sandpiper and a juvenile spotted redshank onto the ditches behing the Breakwater hide. Also the marsh harrier was again hunting over the saltmarsh.
