Llanrhystud Lime Kilns

There was a large flock of golden plover on the wing (at least 400) over the point this morning. Also 2 redshank on the beach below the lime kilns.

2 large flocks of starlings (200 and 100) flew over, heading north.

A number of birds were being very active around the top edge of the lime kiln reserve and in the adjoining field, including 4 blackbirds, 2 song thrush , 1 goldfinch, 2 dunnock , 2 robins, several chaffinch and 8 meadow pipits (the area around the top stile is a sun-trap, so a good place to sit and watch the activity).
