Yesterday we saw a Kingfisher on the power lines over the small pond opposite the wood yard near the Lead Mine. Its the first time we have ever seen one up here. Also on the small lake next to Llywernog Pond were 4 Whooper Swans.
We made an attempt to find the Surf Scoters but the surf was pretty rough and the tide was out. We found a few Scoters but with the bobbing, waves, distance and light, it was pretty difficult to make an ID on the Surf Scoters. We will try again in slightly calmer weather and better tides. That was going to be today!!!!
Re the Waxwing on Fair Isle, I did think that they were heavily photoshopped and fake, but on seeing the video, I hold my hands up!
