At about 9:00 this morning there were 3 Brent Geese at Aberleri. They were keeping company with c40 Wigeon. It was very blowy at the Turn Car Park so although I located the scoter flock I didn't stay long enough or put in enough effort to positively id the Surf Scoter/s.
A fine, male Hen Harrier was hunting over Cors Fochno at about 10:00
As I was driving from Tre r Ddol a Water Rail crossed the road in front of me. A lesson to be learnt perhaps - I've tried and tried to get a look at one to add to my year list. I've spent time at locations where I've been able to hear them shouting their little heads off but no luck in actually seeing one. Then when you least expect it................
