Starling roost mystery remains unresolved

David Lucas and myself headed off to Mydroilyn this evening armed with a map and a few clues in the hope of locating the large Starling roost reported in the area. We took up a vantage point to the south of the village with good views in most directions but a flock of 2000 birds in the field next to us actually flew away from Mydoilyn. After a short drive around the area we returned to our starting point again and saw a handful of very large flocks a little further south, numbering maybe 20000 birds, heading westwards over a ridge and out of sight towards Synod Inn perhaps?
