Birds in the North of the county, and just over the border

Great views of two Ospreys on their nest platform at Cors Dyfi this morning. I understand that they were seen mating a number of times before I arrived at about 9:30 - I'm sure Emyr will tell us more soon. After that I went to Ynys-hir where I saw my first Redstarts of the year, (two males engaged in territorial dispute), and my first Pied Fly. Blackcaps were singing at various locations, some of them seemed not quite in full song yet, but the Willow Warblers and Chiffchaffs were belting it out.
Having bumped into Jerry Moore, who told me that he saw two Lesser-spotted Woodpeckers at about 8:00, I've decided to set the alarm clock for an early start tomorrow in the hope that I can see them as well.
