Dyfi Osprey Project

Excellent news - As I write, 'Monty', our male osprey is standing on his nest perch eating a wriggling Mullet. Staff, volunteers and visitors saw him on Wednesday from the tower hide and again yesterday with pretty good views. After closer inspection this morning however we can confirm it's him - he is un-ringed of course, so we have to make doubly sure!

We have built a new nest on Cors Dyfi reserve this year as well but to date it remains unattended.

Plenty of warblers back now, a swallow yesterday, sand martins Monday and a stunning female marsh Harrier on Tuesday with that beautiful golden leading edges to her wings.

More info as I get it - we are open 10am to 6pm if you fancy a visit. Many of you have kept me informed of osprey movements over the last few weeks - many thanks, much appreciated.

Let's hope they breed this year!
