Cwm Brefi field trip
Having just got back from surveying half a tetrad in Cwm Brefi (from Pont Cae Fforest to Cwm Dulas) I've decided to alter the planned walk a little for next Sunday. We will still meet in the layby next to the school in Llanddewi Brefi but will now simply walk up Cwm Brefi along the road and back. As well, I hope, of better birding, this has the advantage of no muddy paths and less strain on aching knees! In 1 hour this morning I saw 46 species inc. Peregrine, Kestrel, Spotted Flycatcher, Pied Flycatcher, Wood Warbler, Grasshopper Warbler,Stonechat, Whinchat, Wheatear, Yellowhammer, Reed Bunting, Grey Wagtail, to mention a few. By starting in the village we've every chance of seeing 50. Love the Mediterranean feel of the blog these last few weeks.
