First thing this morning saw Arfon and myself watching the Canada Geese and Reed Warblers (the latter busy nest-building) from the Ynys Eidiol hide at Ynys-hir. Just when we were about to call it a day at 9.30, the Purple Heron flew in from the right and landed in the reed edge at the back of the pool, exactly where it was in yesterday evening's photos. After sitting in the reeds briefly, it dropped down and disappeared - the reed band is obviously a lot wider than it looks!
It was reported again at midday. Smart bird!
