After a long day's birding I was just settling down to a cool beer when I received a call to say that there had been reports of a Purple Heron seen from Ynys Eidiol hide at Ynys-hir. So off I went to have a look and sure enough, there was the bird showing beautifully. I even managed to get some not very good "record" shots of it with my pocket sized, point and shoot camera, too duff to publish here I'm afraid. Hopefully it will still be there tomorrow Janet!
Nearly forgot - earlier, at about 2:00 we saw a female Scaup at Ynys-hir. She was on the Dyfi, seen from outside Marian Mawr hide.
