Wednesday the 28th on a quick trip to Ynys hir - Hobby calling and flying
round behind the visitor centre. 2 Little Grebe, 1 Cormorant and around 60
Barnacle Geese at Domen Las Hide, I also saw a Grass Snake swimming, this
one on the Marian Mawr pools.
At Tir Sisial, just as the Corvid, Finch and Tit flocks were starting to
build in numbers (50+ Siskin on Larch and 10+ Bullfinch on Birch cones),
the warm weather has set several species off into song again. Chiff Chaff
still singing yesterday also Great Tit, Goldcrest, Wren, Robin and
Dunnock.
Yesterday late afternoon a great noise from our Khaki Campbell ducks
caused me to run out and find a Buzzard grappling with one of the ducks on
the ground! It flew off and the duck seems unharmed. There was a similar
incident with our hens a few weeks back...
