Aberystwyth 18th
Sightings from yesterday in Aberystwyth when I was visiting my old home town from my current home in Bath; apologies for the late posting. At least seven wheatears in Tanybwlch; four (3m, 1f) on the steep bank to the south, and three in the field of sheep. Also several rock pipits and stonechats, and a dipper about half a mile upstream in the Ystwyth.
About 20 turnstones and two ringed plovers on College Rocks. Finally two peregrines flying (probably a courtship display) above the Welsh Books Council towards Consti made my day.
Attached are pictures of a wheatear on Tanybwlch and a very obliging dunnock - a much under-rated bird.
