wheatear at Morfa Mawr

Having picked up a sack of that coily tangled brightly coloured fishing line which ends up round the legs of young gannets on Grassholm I felt virtuous enough to deserve sight of a good bird and there it was: a splendid male wheatear on a post near Morfa Mawr farm. Lifted the spirits on a dull grey day.
Otherwise a distant GC grebe and RT diver upstaged by a close in male red breasted merganser looking very smart. Meanwhile Bri was watching 2 kites having a tangle which usually means courtship but this was aggression with one bird pulling a clump of feathers from the other...over a stick apparently! I suppose it might not have been the right colour and kite 1 was sent back to B&Q.
