YNYS-HIR and elsewhere

The Green Sandpiper was still at RSPB Ynys-hir today, beside the wetland viewable from the car park and visitor centre.
Close by was this rather fine-looking Little Egret.
Beside the nearby Clettwr was a Greenshank with several Redshanks.

Yesterday at Ystumtuen, the family of 5 Whooper Swans were still on Llyn yr Oerfa, 4 of which are in the picture below.
At New Quay it was great to see so many of the sea-birds on their cliff-ledges, plus some Wheatears on the adjacent pastures, including a female.
The Great Grey Shrike at Cross Inn forest was showing brilliantly, especially after finding and swallowing a mouse, when it remained motionless on the top of a small  tree for absolutely ages. In fact it was still there when we left.
