A bit late, but some observations of interest on a visit to Ynyslas point yesterday evening. As well as several good sized flocks of Dunlin and Ringed Plover there were two Bar-Tailed Godwits and five Whimbrel on the tideline. One of the Whimbrel was colour -ringed - BTO, Green, Yellow with the number - as far as can be made out from a very distant photo - number 462. It will be of interest to ascertain as to where this bird has come from. Also the highlight of the evening was to see the Short-Eared Owl - perhaps it has enjoyed Ynyslas so much that it has taken a caravan for the summer season!
