Shearwaters and waders

Being a person who needs a regular fix of seabirds, I was out early and by 7:15 was perched on a bench at Castle Point, watching Manx Shearwaters flitting past. A lovely sight on a calm morning: The birds were moving north fairly close inshore and half an hour later I had counted 1730, plus a few Gannets and Kittiwakes and seven Razorbills.
A party of seven small waders flying south well offshore seemed to be veering in towards Tanybwlch before I lost them, so I thought it would be worth a look there.  It was, as despite the disturbance from dogs and their walkers I eventually found four Dunlin, 10 Ringed Plovers and 26 Sanderling on the beach.
I hadn't intended looking for waders, as yesterday I had a walk along the beach at Llansantffraed and, probably for the first time ever, had found nothing except a couple of the local Oystercatchers.
